Blood Poison Salamander

The Giant Death Lizards lay sprawled on the ground in utter contentment, completely unaware that two humans were quietly approaching.

"That one earlier was a bigger crocodile, and this one's basically a tank, huh?" Mo Fan hid beneath a nearby tree, clicking his tongue in amazement as he watched the Giant Death Lizards.

"Giant Death Lizards are pack creatures too, and they come in different types. Fire Giant Death Lizards and Rock Giant Death Lizards both evolved from Lizard Skull Demons. There are probably dozens of them in this cave. We'll take these two out and leave right away! If too many Warrior Rank creatures come out, it'll be a real pain to deal with." Lin Lan spoke quietly to Mo Fan in the distance.

The Giant Death Lizards slowly opened their eyes and prepared to head into the cave. That was their habitat, and they were presumably going inside to do something beneficial for the continuation of their species. To them, the cave was both a backyard and a birthing room.

"Spatial Rhythm—Compression." Lin Lan formed a silver star map, and the pressure of space instantly descended upon the two Giant Death Lizards. The dirt beneath them collapsed and flattened under their weight. The two Giant Death Lizards were now lambs awaiting slaughter.

"Thunderbolt—Toppling Strike." Mo Fan's Thunderbolt followed immediately after. Lightning struck the Giant Death Lizards, continuously inflicting damage and paralysis. The air was filled with the scorched smell of burning flesh.

"Mind Control—Void Grip." Psychic force formed into a claw in Lin Lan's hand. With a squeeze, he seized one of the dying Giant Death Lizards and lifted it into the air. The Giant Death Lizard struggled continuously in midair. "Roar! Roar! Roar!" Its cries were agonized and hoarse until it finally died.

"Fire Burst—Explosive." Mo Fan fired a level-three Fire Burst. The flames transformed into a fire serpent and blasted toward the Giant Death Lizard. The scorched smell in the air turned into the aroma of roasted meat. "Awooo! Awooo!" After enduring gravity compression and having its defenses broken by lightning, the Giant Death Lizard could no longer withstand even a single Fire Burst and was burned alive.

"Lanzi, did you bring chili powder? It smells pretty good..." Mo Fan looked at the roasted Giant Death Lizards and suddenly wanted a taste.

"Five million per head, and that thing looks like it'd taste incredibly fishy. If you want to eat it, go ahead. I even brought cumin powder." Watching Mo Fan drool, Lin Lan took out chili powder and cumin powder from his storage space and handed them over.

"Forget it, forget it. I was just saying. The place where these Giant Death Lizards live is pretty clean, but these demon creatures themselves aren't exactly clean. I'd rather catch Red-Eyed Rabbits." Mo Fan waved his hand, the corner of his mouth twitching as he refused.

As the two chatted, the remnant souls from the two Giant Death Lizards drifted into Little Mudfish. Lin Lan also stored the Giant Death Lizards in his storage space.

"Roar!" A fifty-meter-long red giant lizard crawled toward them, its furious roars echoing through the air. The Blood Poison Salamander was entirely crimson, with a pair of red wings and a salamander-like body. It crawled slowly, yet radiated overwhelming majesty. Several Giant Death Lizards followed behind it. Trees were crushed beneath its massive body, and the poison on it caused plants to wither wherever it passed. From a hundred meters away, the Blood Poison Salamander continued crawling toward them.

"Fuck! A Lesser Commander Level Blood Poison Spider! Idiot, Mo Fan, stop staring!" Seeing Mo Fan still standing there in a daze as he watched the Blood Poison Salamander, Lin Lan quickly dragged him away and ran.

"What rank is that demon creature? It looks pretty poisonous." Mo Fan snapped out of it and asked as he ran.

"A Lesser Commander. That one's female, so there should be a Great Commander male Great Salamander Demon on the way too. Let's run for a while first, then I'll summon the big eagle." As Lin Lan spoke, he ran faster and faster, quickly leaving Mo Fan far behind.

"Lanzi, wait for me..." No matter how hard Mo Fan chased, he could not catch up. He was on the verge of tears as the Blood Poison Salamander behind him drew ever closer. Sweat dripped continuously from his face. If they caught him, he would really be dead.

"Dimensional Summon—Big Eagle, go pick up Mo Fan first." Lin Lan summoned the Crimson Wind Eagle, which immediately flew toward Mo Fan.

"I'm done for... I'm done for! Lanzi, you're just going to watch me die!" The Giant Death Lizards, the Blood Poison Salamander's underlings, were now right on Mo Fan's tail. Whenever Mo Fan tried to cast magic, the pouncing Giant Death Lizards kept interrupting him. "Hurry... hurry." His Intermediate Level Magic was just about to be released.

"Shriek!" The Crimson Wind Eagle stirred the wind element, and a fierce gale repelled the Giant Death Lizards' attacks. "Great! You're the loyal one here!" Mo Fan immediately beamed with joy.

The Crimson Wind Eagle grabbed Mo Fan directly in its claws and flew toward Lin Lan ahead. Seeing Mo Fan's bitter expression as he dangled from the Crimson Wind Eagle's claws, Lin Lan could not help laughing. "Mo Fan, what do you think? My eagle's great, right? It saved your life again." He then grabbed Mo Fan and leaped onto the Crimson Wind Eagle's back. "Go, that thing isn't easy to handle."

"Boom!" Green-black liquid sprayed from the Blood Poison Salamander's mouth toward the Crimson Wind Eagle. The trees in its path rotted away upon contact.

"Don't dodge, Big Eagle. Phasing." Lin Lan first reassured the Crimson Wind Eagle, then moved to the rear. Ten areas entered a phased state, and the green-black liquid attack passed harmlessly through them. The liquid flowed into a lake, and the entire body of water began turning black as it spread outward.

"Oh, good heavens... if that had hit us..." Mo Fan looked at the lake with lingering fear. Even in a small place near a major city, the demon creatures were this competitive—there was already a Commander Level creature out here.

"Sky Flash—Thunderbolt—Toppling Strike." Standing atop the Crimson Wind Eagle, Lin Lan formed a bright white star map beneath his feet. Lightning began gathering above the Blood Poison Salamander's head. "Rumble, rumble!" Bolts of lightning continuously descended from the thunderclouds, striking the Blood Poison Salamander and the Giant Death Lizards. The Blood Poison Salamander had been preparing to attack, but it instead shielded the Giant Death Lizards around it from the lightning.

"Go!" At his words, the Crimson Wind Eagle accelerated. This attack could not inflict any substantial damage; delaying the Blood Poison Salamander long enough to stop it from releasing poison was enough. "What a shame, Lanzi. I wonder how much all those Lizard Skull Demon corpses below would sell for." Mo Fan looked regretfully at the pile of corpses beneath them.

After another two and a half hours of flight, the two returned to the Demon Hunting Hall in Magic City.

"Hello, we've completed the commission we accepted and obtained two Giant Death Lizard corpses." Lin Lan spoke to the staff member who had issued the mission.

"Very well, sir. Please wait a moment. Once the appraiser has examined the two Giant Death Lizard corpses you provided, the employer's payment will be transferred to your card, and your Hunter points will be added as well. It says here that you only need another five hundred Hunter points to become a Demon Hunter Master. Keep up the good work." The staff member spoke to Lin Lan and Mo Fan. She was very calm when mentioning Hunter Master, presumably because she had seen plenty of Demon Hunter Masters, and her attitude was quite pleasant.

"Hello, sir. The appraisal results are out. Your money and points have both been credited. Please take a look." The staff member came over and spoke to Lin Lan.

"Alright. I also wanted to ask whether there's anywhere here that buys soul essences. I want to sell some." Lin Lan planned to sell the soul essences he had collected in Bocheng. He had two Thorn Wolf soul essences, plus one from Mo Fan. There were three Servant Level soul essences in total, which they could use later to strengthen Lightning Seal.

"The Demon Hunting Hall has a dedicated place for purchasing soul essences, but the price here will be around two million lower. You could sell them at an auction instead. There's one in the city center next week." The staff member replied to Lin Lan.

"Alright, thank you." After thanking her, Lin Lan took a sip of tea and left with Mo Fan.

"Lanzi, if she works at the Demon Hunting Hall, why did she recommend that we go to an auction? Isn't that turning away business?" Mo Fan asked in confusion.

"Could it be that the auction is run by someone connected to her? Or maybe her family? Working at the Demon Hunting Hall in Magic City isn't simple." Lin Lan said to Mo Fan.

"So she's a rich girl experiencing ordinary life?" Mo Fan seemed to have suddenly understood.

"Experiencing my ass. Even great families can't guarantee a hundred percent successful magic awakenings. They send people to manage their businesses too. She's introducing talent to her family. I'm guessing she's already spoken with the auction appraiser." Lin Lan explained to the half-understanding Mo Fan.
