Background / History

Hai Bodong was once the Ice Emperor, a solitary and arrogant ice-attributed Dou Emperor counted among the Jia Ma Empire's Ten Great Experts. He was also a former guardian of the empire and maintained longstanding ties to the Mite'er Family. His temper was notorious: in a past rage, he froze an entire city. 136 252

While exploring the Tagor Desert, Hai Bodong obtained a Fragmented Map. Queen Medusa pursued him for it and defeated him, leaving him afflicted by the Serpent Seal Curse. The curse rapidly aged his body and reduced his cultivation to the Dou Ling level. Unable to remove it, he hid in Desert City for more than twenty years, operating a map shop while studying the incomplete map. 136 138 139

When Xia Mo sought to purchase the map fragment, Hai Bodong refused and attacked rather than surrender it. His ice techniques proved insufficient against Xia Mo's group: Xiao Bai shattered his constructs, while Zi Yan destroyed his Ice Spirit Armor with a single blow. 137 138

Hai Bodong ultimately negotiated instead of continuing the fight.
