The blond boy immediately explained.
"My parents promised to buy me a car when I graduated high school, with a limit of ten thousand dollars. Yesterday, I begged and pleaded until they gave me the money early. With the thousand dollars I'd saved up, I finally managed to buy it."

The moment he finished speaking, a beam of light shot out from the lipstick-sized Portable Holographic Projection Device. It quickly formed a fifty-centimeter-square three-dimensional projection in the air.
Like a miniature sand-table model, it displayed a modern city packed with towering buildings. The image rapidly shifted and changed before finally settling on a tall figure clad in a black alloy armored combat suit.
