Background / History

Xiao Wu begins as a Work-Study Student in Dorm Seven, where she eagerly accepts the dormitory rule requiring newcomers to demonstrate their strength. Her first exchanges with Huo Yuhao establish a long-running competitive friendship built around close-combat sparring, teasing, and neither side readily conceding defeat. 8 15

After Tang San leaves to obtain his first Soul Ring, Xiao Wu and Huo Yuhao take over their work duties together. She later borrows Huo Yuhao's Electric Baton to defeat Xiao Chenyu, wins the group’s wager, and distributes most of the winnings among the Work-Study Students. 13 20 22

Xiao Wu is secretly a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast living in human form. Having only recently entered human society, she is portrayed as inexperienced with its ways but exceptionally sincere. When she witnesses Huo Yuhao form a self-generated Soul Ring, she mistakenly concludes that he is also a soul beast in human form and happily proposes that they remain lifelong friends. 31 32

She accompanies Huo Yuhao into the Star Dou Great Forest after accepting his offer of a Soul Tool Propulsion Device. In exchange, she agrees to guide him and learns the basic operation of both the Propulsion Device and Variable Propulsion Device. 35 36

Over several years at Shrek Academy, Xiao Wu develops into one of the group’s strongest close-combat fighters. Her actual combat experience and endurance are specifically credited to Huo Yuhao’s training. 71 80 After consuming the Lovesick Heartbreak Red, she becomes a four-ring Soul Ancestor and gains a substantial improvement in Soul Power and physical strength. 108
