Perhaps she had inherited the talents of her scholar and engineer parents. She was extraordinarily good at learning—so gifted that it was difficult to comprehend.
It truly was... difficult to comprehend.
No matter what she studied, she could understand it with effortless ease. The speed of her learning was enough to make others ashamed.
When she was five, on the first day she picked up a mathematics textbook, she asked Abo, "Dad, why can we calculate the area of a triangle with this formula?"
"This? It's because two triangles can be put together to make a quadrilateral. So by doing it this way, dividing by two gives you the area of a triangle." Abo patiently explained.
"Mm, then what if this triangle can't be put together into a quadrilateral?" Reboot asked.
As she spoke, she added an irregular angle to the triangle.
"Well, for that..." Abo was thinking about how to explain it in a way a child could understand.
But Reboot had already begun pondering on her own, drawing and scribbling on the paper.
She seemed to be muttering to herself, yet also speaking to Abo. "Dad, you just said that it can be put together into another shape, then divided by two, right? Then if I draw a line here and split this shape into two triangles, can I calculate it with the same method of division?"
"Then... divide all these irregular shapes into lots and lots of quadrilaterals and pentagons... then the area of this irregular shape can be roughly represented as the sum of the areas of those
