"Keep an eye on the surroundings. He might still be here," Number 3 warned.

Everyone's hearts tightened at those words.

They had just returned from the second floor to the first. They had already confirmed that Zhang Heng was not on the second floor, which meant there was indeed a high chance he was still on the first.

The thought that such a terrifying killer might still be lurking beside them made everyone tense. Those holding thermal detectors immediately began sweeping the area, but Number 2 did not do the same. She looked up toward the ceiling, then raised the thermal detector in her hand. The two companions beside her held their breath as well, gripping their guns and following the movement of her detector.

Yet after making a full sweep, they still found no sign of Zhang Heng.

"Did he escape through the main entrance?" Number 3 asked.

"That possibility cannot be ruled out," Number 8 said with a frown. But then he saw a Federal Police officer walking toward him.

"What is it?"

"I just counted the bodies. We lost ten colleagues, but there are only nine bodies here."

Number 8's pupils abruptly contracted. He raised his gun toward the Federal Police officers nearby and shouted, "Everyone, don't move! Hands up!"

Numbers 2 and 3 were half a beat slower, but they quickly realized what was happening and turned their guns toward the companions around them in coordination with Number 8.
