Preparation for Battle
Zhang Heng found an unoccupied spot. After Fengzi and Qiu Ming had both found places to hide, he drew Hidden Sheath from his waist again.
This time, since he had not entered combat the moment things began, Zhang Heng had more time to prepare and adjust. He gripped the blade with both hands, slowly raised it above his head, and assumed an opening stance.
On the other side, Qiu Ming widened his eyes and stared without blinking. He did not want to miss the sight of Zhang Heng drawing his blade again as he had before.
Yet although Qiu Ming had focused all his attention, he still failed to fully capture the path of Zhang Heng's strike. His eyes barely caught an afterimage before sparks erupted from where the Hunter VI type robot's control core was located, leaving a roughly twenty-centimeter gash in its metal casing.
Moreover, the strike carried tremendous force, slicing halfway through the robot's heavy shell.
The attacked Hunter VI type robot immediately switched into defense mode, moving its left arm to aim at Zhang Heng. At the same time, the sickles on its two feet had already slashed toward him first.
This time, Zhang Heng did not use Hidden Sheath to sever them. He needed to preserve as much of the robot's integrity as possible so it could exert its greatest power in the coming battle.
So Zhang Heng increased his speed, evading the cleaving sickle feet through footwork. At the same time, before the heavy machine gun could target him, he swung a second strike.
If he had not seen it with his own eyes, Qiu Ming truly could not have believed that anyone could train their Blade Technique to such a level.
