If he had not seen it with his own eyes, Ma Lu would never have believed that this deep-sea behemoth, which lived in the ocean, could be stranded in an abandoned subway station. What was more, the sperm whale before them was actually still alive. It merely seemed somewhat listless after leaving the ocean and lay on the ground without the strength to struggle.
Ma Lu recalled the thunderous crash he had heard earlier, along with the earthquake that had appeared and vanished so suddenly. It now seemed that it had not been an earthquake at all. Something had thrown this massive sperm whale here, and its body, weighing over sixty tons, had slammed into the ground and made the entire station tremble.
The sperm whale's size and weight far surpassed those of any known land creature. Ma Lu did not dare imagine just how huge the thing that had dragged it here must be.
Zhang Heng noticed the sperm whale too, but he had no time to worry about it. Although the three of them had run up to the second floor, they were not out of danger. Their most urgent priority was to put distance between themselves and the snake tide.
Zhang Heng swept his gaze around the second floor. There were two closely spaced passageways on either side of him, likely corresponding to the subway station's four entrances and exits. However, the passageways in different directions were quite far apart. Zhang Heng had already chosen wrong once before, so this time, he did not rush. He calmed himself and considered it carefully for a moment.
In the end, he chose the two passageways to his right, because that
