"Simon?" Rat didn't understand what Simon had to do with the doctor's current miserable state. After the two sides had split up, they had gone their separate ways. Simon had stayed in Pripyat with them to continue the investigation, while the doctor had left with Mechanic. Although Rat sympathized with the doctor's condition, no matter how he looked at it, he couldn't blame Simon for this.
"It seems your physical conditions have also been deteriorating all this time." The doctor didn't rush to explain. Instead, he looked around, his gaze passing over Kill la Kill Boy's swollen arm, Rat's injured leg, and Kratos's somewhat pale face.
"What do you mean?" Kratos's expression shifted.
"Do you remember what I said before? Given the radiation Coconut had received at the nuclear power plant, her condition shouldn't have worsened so quickly. Even if her palm had touched the graphite blocks on the ground, she developed a high fever, fell unconscious, and nearly lost her life in less than a day. That rate simply doesn't conform to medical common sense."
"You suspect someone tampered with her?"
"The first person to discover that something was wrong with her that night was Simon," the doctor said coldly.
Kill la Kill Boy shook his head. "But that doesn't prove Simon did anything to her. Besides, Simon isn't an omnipotent god. How could he worsen Coconut's condition?"
"It was the graphite."
"What?"
"I'm answering your question—how he worsened her condition. He secretly placed graphite reactor core blocks beside Coconut."
"Do you know what you're saying?" Kratos asked.
"Of course I do, because he did the same thing to Mechanic and me. He warned us not to leave Pripyat. We didn't listen, so before we left, he put a piece of graphite in our backpack." The doctor said bitterly,
