Second Arrest

Just as Brynhildr cornered the engineer-looking man at Copenhagen International Airport, another arrest was underway elsewhere.

The ones carrying out the arrest were no longer the Valkyries with supermodel figures and angelic faces, but a burly man with a red beard and red hair. His entire body was covered in exaggerated muscles, stretching an XXXL tracksuit to the limit. The parts extending from his sleeves gleamed in the sunlight, as if cast from iron. Flames seemed to burn in his eyes; anyone stared at by those eyes would find it hard not to be cowed by the imposing aura he radiated and lower their head.

Yet the man standing beside him was his complete opposite. He had fluffy hair and sleepy eyes, wore a cat T-shirt and sneakers printed with cat patterns, and even his shorts and backpack were covered in cat heads. He held a box of cat food in one hand. He was just short of having a cat stamped on his forehead.

This strange pair looked utterly mismatched, and no one knew how they had ended up together.

The burly man with flames in his eyes made no effort to hide his disdain for Cat Man. If he had not needed Cat Man to lead the way, he would have shaken him off and gone solo long ago. Suppressing his discomfort, he looked at the residential complex ahead and asked, "Is this the place?"

"That's right. My feline masters told me so. If you're worried, I can find another one and ask again," Cat Man said. Afterward, he looked around and somehow spotted a stray cat in the greenery outside the complex.

Cat Man dug a cat bowl out of his backpack, opened the box of cat food in his hand, and poured it into the bowl.
