Unsheathed
Zhang Heng was suddenly attacked. In less than half a second, the dagger from his left had already been thrust toward his chest.
At the same time, a fist came flying at the back of his head. The one throwing the punch was the man Zhang Heng had encountered in the restroom. A dark green ring was on the index finger of the hand he used to punch, and it was clearly an item as well, faint arcs of electricity flickering across it.
One could imagine that anyone struck by that punch would not have a pleasant time.
Both men had launched their attacks without warning, and they had actually ignored Fulou's rules. They both held weapons in their hands. At such close range, most people could not even react to what was happening, much less dodge.
Zhang Heng, meanwhile, truly looked as if he had been scared stiff. Yet just as the dagger was about to pierce his chest, its wielder suddenly discovered that the blade could not advance another inch.
His wrist had been clamped tightly in Zhang Heng's grip. And that was not the end of it. The next instant, he heard his own bones groan. Zhang Heng had crushed his wrist by force, and his entire body flew backward out of control, slamming directly into his companion's incoming fist.
The current from the ring passed through his skin and bored into his heart. Then his vision went black, and he lost consciousness, crashing hard onto the floor.
Yet Zhang Heng did not take the rare opportunity to flee. He remained seated, ignoring the auctioneer on the stage whose expression had drastically changed, and swept his gaze over the buyers present.
