"Recently, the renowned tech conglomerate Fukang saw another employee suicide by jumping from a building. This was already the sixteenth employee fall in the past month, sparking widespread public discussion. Our reporter specially interviewed Mr. Guo Zimin, president of Fukang Group, on the matter."
The sweet-looking young female reporter, like a girl next door, held her microphone up to a middle-aged man in a suit, wearing a green Submariner and radiating the air of a successful businessman.
"Hello, President Guo. How do you view this recent string of jumping incidents at Fukang?"
Guo Zimin looked at the microphone before him, his face taking on an expression of grief. "Such incidents are always regrettable. They have already drawn the group's utmost attention. Management has invited social and psychological experts to study the relevant issues, hoping to identify the causes as soon as possible and reduce the likelihood of similar incidents."
Just as the reporter thought President Guo was about to brush off the interview with empty platitudes, Guo Zimin suddenly changed tack. "As president, I certainly cannot shirk responsibility for such incidents. But I believe we cannot look at the matter from only one angle. There has been quite a bit of news about suicides lately. It is not just our Fukang. As far as I know, many young people in Japan commit suicide too. Right, what is Japan's suicide rate again?"
Naturally, the reporter had no way of knowing something like that and could only give an awkward smile.
Yet Guo Zimin continued speaking eloquently. "I have also consulted relevant psychological experts. Although sixteen of our employees have committed suicide, compared to the group's total workforce of nearly five hundred thousand, this suicide rate is actually not high. The experts told me it is below the normal range."
