Zhang Heng finished the bowl of beef chow fun, thanked the head chef and the other kitchen staff, then got up and headed to the backyard.
Agatha had already changed into a waiter's uniform she had just stolen. She had prepared one for Zhang Heng as well. After he changed, they pushed a food cart, also swiped from the back kitchen, to the mysterious Room 515.
Their plan was simple. Since only food delivery staff could enter that room, they would disguise themselves as food delivery staff.
Agatha took out her pocket watch and checked it. After half a month of tracking and research, the Detective Society had determined that Room 515's meal deliveries came at a fixed time every day. There were still about fifteen minutes until dinner delivery.
But there was no helping it. If they timed it too precisely, they would inevitably run into the real food delivery staff.
After exchanging a glance, Agatha and Zhang Heng quickly knocked on the door before them.
"Dear guest, your dinner has arrived," Agatha said, imitating a delivery worker's voice.
There was no response from inside the room.
Agatha grew nervous as well, worried that whoever was inside had already seen through their simple plan. Just as she was thinking of something to say to explain the timing issue, the door before them slowly opened a crack.
A flicker of delight passed through Agatha's eyes. However, afraid that seeming too eager would arouse the person behind the door's suspicion, she forcibly suppressed her excitement and patiently waited outside for another minute or so.
Yet after a minute, the door that had opened a crack did not open any farther. There was no one behind it, nor was there any sound.
Agatha cleared her throat. "We're coming in."
