Zhang Heng had discovered a month ago that his days had gained an extra twenty-four hours.
The first thing to change had been his watch. It was a Seastar Automatic III Mechanical Watch made by Tissot, a gift from his parents in Iceland for his eighteenth birthday.
It had been a very perfunctory Taobao order: the seller shipped it out, and they had even put down the wrong class in the address field.
Zhang Heng placed his fingers on the keyboard and typed the opening paragraph of the novel. His writing skill had now reached Level 3, and with the outline already finalized, everything that followed came naturally.
Just as he finished writing the part that took place in the café, someone suddenly knocked on his door.
Zhang Heng got up, walked into the living room, and peered through the peephole.
He saw the two figures standing outside.
—Ed Wilson and Bear Grylls.
And somewhere behind the army captain and the explorer stood a somewhat shy young man with short hair. Unlike the first time they had met, he was no longer wearing only a pair of shorts. Probably because he was visiting a friend, he had also put on a hoodie.
Zhang Heng opened the door. "Welcome."
"We received your letter saying you needed our help with something," Bear said with a smile. "So we came over right away. But I have to say, this place is pretty mysterious. I only had a cup of coffee, and when I woke up, I was standing at the entrance to this manor."
"Same here," Ed immediately chimed in. "But what happened to me was even stranger. I remember being terribly ill. After using all my strength to leave behind one last great quote from my life, I lost consciousness.
