In the Monitoring Room, the security guard responsible for reviewing the footage suddenly noticed that the image on one screen had begun to shake. Then it rotated ninety degrees, pointing toward the perimeter wall.

This immediately put him on alert, because Camera No. 24 was one of the two cameras filming the entrance to Workshop No. 3.

That was the most important place in the entire glass factory.

However, before he could react, something happened to the other camera as well. Like Camera No. 24, Camera No. 25 was used to monitor the entrance to Workshop No. 3. Its image also began to shake, and something furry could be seen dangling over the lens.

Was that... a cat?

The guard searched through the common knowledge he had learned recently and knew that cats were animals that lived on Earth too. Unlike pigs and chickens, which were raised in large numbers for food, cats were mostly kept as pets. Especially in cities, more and more single young men and women had begun keeping cats, hoping to gain companionship from them.

But cats themselves were very independent and aloof animals.

As long as they were fed and watered and had their basic play and social needs met, they could live quite comfortably without paying attention to people. The guard found it hard to understand. If it was simply for companionship, why not keep a dog? Was it because cats did not need to be walked?

Still, once he realized the surveillance cameras had been bumped by a cat, his vigilance eased.

Then, as if confirming his judgment, a tiny paw with soft pads pressed against the camera, causing Camera No. 25 to shift as well.
