Uncovering the Set's Secrets

Everyone had secrets. Zhang Heng did not ask Shen Xixi how she had obtained that little balance scale, or what kind of agreement she had reached with Justitia, the goddess of justice, that night. Likewise, Shen Xixi tactfully did not ask how Zhang Heng had known where Yogurt and 1810 would meet.

She and Black Swan had both followed Zhang Heng here, allowing them to appear at the critical moment and prevent one—no, two—tragedies.

Zhang Heng now possessed two B-grade items, placing him just below the absolute upper ranks of certain major guilds. However, his greatest secret remained those extra twenty-four hours. In Shen Xixi's eyes, Zhang Heng had spent the entire night investigating Yogurt's kidnapping with her. In reality, after midnight, Zhang Heng had left Shen Dongxing's apartment and used the tracking techniques he had learned in the Deduction Instance. It took him roughly four hours to find the two of them. Yet Zhang Heng had not rushed to abduct them. Instead, he had secretly planted Trojan programs for surveillance and tracking on Yogurt's and Shen Dongxing's phones.

If 1810 arrived and accepted the outcome, the investigation would end there. If 1810 refused to accept it, Zhang Heng could still quickly locate Yogurt and Shen Dongxing.

No matter what, the matter had ultimately been resolved satisfactorily. The price was the dissolution of 1810's original team. When they parted, Black Swan hinted that if Zhang Heng was willing to play games with her, perhaps something might happen between them. Zhang Heng politely declined.

Zhang Heng had never had much interest in teaming up since he started playing the game. Although the Proxy War instance had become more difficult, he could still handle it alone for the time being.
