Although the guy staying across the hall had agreed to Zhang Heng's invitation to eat together, he remained highly wary and kept a certain distance from Zhang Heng.
Zhang Heng did not force the issue. At least they had exchanged names and given each other a simple introduction, which counted as considerable progress.
Zhang Heng had learned that the guy beside him was called Fabrikot. He was very young, only seventeen this year, and was traveling through New England. According to him, he was mainly there to admire the natural scenery, visit historical sites, and incidentally research his family genealogy. He had originally planned to take a train directly from Newburyport to Arkham, but the ticket clerk in Newburyport had offered him a more economical travel plan.
That was to transfer here by bus. However, Fabrikot had not expected the late bus to Arkham to be canceled, so he could only stay here for the night.
During their conversation, Zhang Heng also learned that Fabrikot had arrived much earlier than he had. He had left Newburyport on the ten o'clock bus in the morning and had already wandered around here for half the day.
