When Zhang Heng charged at Nasica, Nasica's partner did not remain where he was to face Zhang Heng alongside Nasica.
He had not made that choice because he had suddenly been scared witless, but because of a calm assessment of the situation. In his view, even if Zhang Heng had been concealing his strength, he could not have been much stronger than Nasica. So even if Nasica could not win, he should still have been able to hold on for a while.
He therefore chose to take this opportunity to eliminate Valo, the weakest person in the arena, before turning back to join Nasica in pinching Zhang Heng.
There was nothing wrong with that strategy. Valo really was as weak as he remembered. The moment he pressed Valo hard, Valo began to panic. Moreover, a Net Gladiator was a profession strong in offense but weak in defense. Once Valo lost his nerve and shifted to defense, he was effectively abandoning his strengths and exposing his weaknesses.

Nasica's partner was greatly alarmed, because he recognized Zhang Heng's voice. Since Zhang Heng had the leisure to instruct Valo here, it meant his battle with Nasica had already ended.
But it had happened far too quickly. Nasica's partner had considered the possibility that Nasica might lose to Zhang Heng, but he had never imagined the fight would be a completely one-sided slaughter. Nasica had not even lasted a moment, and now he had to face two opponents alone.
He did not agree with Zhang Heng's claim
