Meeting
Zhang Heng walked up to the entrance of the Giant Egg-shaped building and glanced at the access control above. He had been thinking about how to contact Xu Qian, but to his surprise, the system on his wristband automatically connected to the access control the next moment.
"Welcome, visitor Zhang Heng. Ms. Xu Qian of Room 3094, Unit 12, has activated temporary access privileges for you at Yacheng Apartment. Valid for two weeks. If you have any questions, please contact apartment management."
As the friendly female voice spoke, the apartment doors slid open to either side. Then Zhang Heng's wristband flashed twice, displaying a mail icon on its surface. It was presumably an email from apartment management.
This was not Zhang Heng's first time entering an instance set in the future.
He had previously visited a future ruled by CTOS in The Leaker instance, but that future had not been too far away, only twelve years after the original instance. By comparison, this instance's timeline was clearly much further ahead, and its technological atmosphere was stronger as well.
Zhang Heng entered the apartment building. His gaze first swept over the cameras on the ceiling before he began looking around.
Just like outside, the environment inside the building was excellent.
The circular corridors were carpeted in red Persian rugs. The center of the building was hollow, featuring an enormous glass curtain wall. The first floor held a large flower garden, while above it were the private balconies of the inner residents. The lighting was excellent, yet the residents were not disturbed.
Just as Zhang Heng raised his head and narrowed his eyes, trying to identify the plants growing on a second-floor balcony across from him, the elevator beside him suddenly opened. A heavily made-up woman in fishnet stockings walked out.
