As in previous meetings, Mu En reclined limply in the lounge chair at the head of the table. The elders and other Sea God Pavilion members sat around the long table, with only the first seat on the left and the last seats on both sides vacant.

Those three seats belonged to Xuan Zi, Ye Chen, and Fan Yu respectively.

No one found the three men's absence surprising. What surprised them was why Mu En had summoned them at this time, only to offer no indication of the reason.
