Background / History

Mu En and Xuan Zi found Ye Chen in the Star Dou Forest amid a mysterious phenomenon. After confirming that the infant was human, Mu En brought him to Sea God's Pavilion and named him Ye Chen, believing the child resembled a star fallen from the night sky. He and Xuan Zi concealed Ye Chen's true origins, telling others only that the child had been found outside Shrek City. 5 6

After presiding over Ye Chen's Martial Soul Awakening, Mu En recognized four balanced ultimate auras—light, darkness, ice, and fire—within the boy's Twin Martial Souls. He judged that the balance was essential to Ye Chen's survival, warned that Evil Soul Masters could exploit Ye Chen's attributes, and personally assumed responsibility for his cultivation. 11 12

Mu En spent two months observing Ye Chen's attribute cycle before authorizing him to obtain his first soul ring. He concluded that Ye Chen's two Martial Souls had to be cultivated together rather than following a primary-and-secondary Martial Soul path. 13 14
