But Lu PingAn knew that even the so-called Ocean God could not possibly create a "flood" on that scale.
Completely altering the terrain and landscape, directly or indirectly remaking the ecology of an entire world... there was only one existence capable of that.

It was that being that had guided the ancestors of those insect people, turning them step by step from "wild animals" in the forest into intelligent beings.
Yet after their civilization had reached a considerable height, it washed everything away with a flood.

One corner of the murals showed that amid the world-ending flood, some living beings had leaped into unknown rifts, attempting to escape the all-consuming deluge.
Perhaps those had been the ancestors of the Abyssal Swarm.
Then their return might not necessarily have been an invasion.

Compared to the somewhat conflicted Lu PingAn, Big Cat saw things more rationally.
