Strolling through Garden City, Lu PingAn found birds singing and flowers blooming everywhere, along with familiar yet unfamiliar signs.
"Burger King, DiDi Hitting People, Shanfu Spring Water, Funeral Cola. What's so cheerful about that?"
Knockoff names lined every street and alley, giving Lu PingAn a tiny bit of transmigrator shock.
Perhaps the "senior transmigrators" had shown no restraint at all and truly left no room for those who came after them.
But what Lu PingAn found hardest to take was the countless restaurants named "Hometown Dishes," "Home Dishes," and "Authentic Hometown Cuisine." It seemed that without "hometown" or "home" in their names, East Country cuisine from Earth somehow wasn't authentic.
"...I was thinking of finding a local Hometown Cuisine restaurant, maybe even a branch of the trade company. Do these people not care about trademark law at all? Aren't they afraid of being sued?"
The answer was obviously yes. You copied me, I copied you, everyone copied each other. Forget protecting similar names and highly overlapping trademarks—if they did not copy them exactly, that was already out of respect for Lu Mouren.
Even if he really wanted to sue, even if this world truly had official powers capable of upholding justice, gathering evidence for this sort of thing took time and effort. Proving plagiarism meant dealing with all sorts of logical loopholes and sophistry. The other company might even go bankrupt from poor management before the lawsuit was over.
"Is there really no way around it? It's kind of disgusting."
"Actually, there is. This isn't a society ruled by law anyway. Destroy every one you find, hang the owners, burn down the shops. Once word gets out, no one will dare use those names again."
"Yu Ge, I think you're being a little extreme." Lu PingAn widened his eyes, finding
