"Although we'd already been notified that the city had been attacked by Murder Demons, could this really be something just a few Murder Demons could do?"
The gray fog had grown increasingly dense, to the point where one could not see even a few meters ahead.
"Golden Moon" Hua Xueyi walked through the fog-shrouded streets, yet remained as calm as ever.
Neither scent, color, nor even Spiritual Intuition could detect her now. Walking through these dangerous streets, she was an Invisible Man who did not exist.
"This city used to have over a hundred thousand residents, right? Where did they all go?"
Unlike Earth, which already had plenty of five- or six-story buildings, the cities here were still in their expansion phase. Most buildings were only two or three stories tall and were scattered far apart.
Yet even so, after walking through the fog for more than ten minutes, Hua Xueyi had not sensed a single "living creature."
"So it's here."
Her Life Perception as a Tier 4 Beast Tamer had found no life, but her sense of smell had located the source of the stench.
Once she got close enough, the fog's barrier of falsehood and illusion finally failed. What appeared before Hua Xueyi was a "human ball."
It was a combination of at least a dozen humanoid creatures. Its lower half consisted of countless severed limbs, arms and legs haphazardly connected together. The heads pieced together within it seemed to struggle and wail endlessly, yet no sound emerged. Their completely rotten vocal cords were nothing more than decorations. The Corpse Monster's stitched-together human ball rolled about at random, like marbles casually knocked around by children.
"What the hell is this thing?"
Even Hua Xueyi, who could already be considered a veteran mercenary, had never seen anything so unreasonable.
