While Lu PingAn and his group returned to Earth to seek aid and negotiate an alliance, time on Mercury 42 had not stopped, nor had the Otherworld Invaders paused.
In fact, quite the opposite—the battlefield had only grown more intense. If they had not felt the pressure, those feudal lords of the Forest Goddess Church would have had no reason to voluntarily divide up their own slice of the pie.
"Has it already been five months? They still aren't back?"
"They may need a little more time. The flow of time on our side is still somewhat abnormal. From what I've heard, only a little over three months have passed on Earth."
The disrupted timeline from back then had not come without consequences, especially now that the supreme being who had stepped on the accelerator was no longer around.
Over the past few months, the flow of time on Mercury 42 had indeed been chaotic, speeding up and slowing down irregularly. But without the power of a world controller, everything was gradually settling down. The greatest time difference did not exceed threefold, making it an acceptable "time lag" overall.
Now that they had calculated it, wasting a few extra months seemed only natural.
"The round trip alone takes over two months. Then they really do need a little more time."
Though they could understand it, the various fronts were already starting to buckle.
Invaders from beyond the realm kept entering the fray. Once they had confirmed that the front lines were relatively safe—meaning they would not fall into spatial-temporal turbulence—the high-ranking forces of every faction began taking the field to seize territory. Several cities and regions had already begun undergoing obvious otherworldly transformation, forcing some of Mercury 42's high-ranking combatants to enter the battle as well.
Naturally, discussions about reinforcements
