"What the hell is the Multiverse Drowning Theory?"
What lay before Lu PingAn was something that could only be called heretical.
Or rather, if the hypothesis was true, it described a reality that would leave the entire multiverse in utter despair.
It was a hypothesis regarding the multiverse's current state. It placed all worlds upon a Big Tree, with floodwaters spreading and rising beneath it.
Each world stood at a different height and bore different pressures. Everyone tried to climb the Big Tree, but the struggles of most worlds were meaningless. When the "flood" swallowed them, they could only try to learn to coexist with it and struggle for survival within it.
Lu PingAn could understand these premises, but what followed felt rather unsettling.
"Once someone can survive steadily in the flood, they naturally possess survival techniques. Whether it is 'technology' or 'equipment,' it holds value for those higher up the tree!"
"Following this logic, those in higher positions on the tree will continually plunder those below them, the ones floating on the water. As long as they have not perished, it proves that their world and their technology have value, enough to keep them going longer."
It was somewhat similar to the Dark Forest theory. The longer you held out, the more you displayed your world's prosperity and resistance amid chaotic pollution, and the more multiversal disasters would come looking for trouble.
These Plunderers would attempt to seize your world, rules, and resources to strengthen themselves.
"These rules are too dark. Isn't that a bit alarmist?"
"The one who proposed it was a Tier 9 pure Scholar, supposedly one of Earth's strongest. He is the greatest thinker known as the Void Brain."
"Uh, Earth actually has a Tier 9 quasi-divine Scholar? I've never seen one."
"Earth doesn't. He left
