Lu PingAn was taken aback when he received the news.
This had been one of the tasks assigned to him when he first arrived. Cities across Changping Province had used the opportunity to hold trade fairs, displaying their newest products and spoils of war from other realms.
It was called a trade fair, but no one expected to receive many orders in such an environment. It was simply another way to display their city's strength and foundations.
Ancient City had showcased its "flying vessels" and some spoils of war from other realms. Lu PingAn had even made an appearance for them and watched the "exhibition war." Of course, someone like him could not enter the fray. Otherwise, it would not have been competition, but war.
But honestly, among the many cities in Changping Province, Ancient City's gains could only be considered average. During the Green Planet incident, at least three other cities had achieved similar results. It was even less impressive compared to Changping City itself.
They had Rule-level combat power available for deployment. The otherworldly gains those big shots brought out were overwhelmingly superior in every respect.
But if one side of the arena was Changping City, while the other was every city in Changping Province except Changping, that was a different matter.
Many cities had their own ambitions and ideas, so naturally they wanted to suppress Changping at this time. In a sense, this was an alternative form of forcing the palace's hand.
