The newly built estate was filled with busy figures.
It was an estate that had yet to take shape—or rather, a construction site still in progress.
The largest structure was undoubtedly the massive treehouse-shaped "Exhibition Hall." Around it stood factory buildings and sheds being erected at an accelerated pace. This household was expanding rapidly.
Beside the Exhibition Hall, medium-sized puppets handled the work of construction machinery, but given their lack of precision, most of the work still had to be done by hand.
"It's still worse than Earth. These iron lumps are way too imprecise."
"Say less."
Some pushed carts, while others carried building materials. Most were fairly diligent, but one group muttered as they worked while performing exceptionally well.
They could casually grip steel beams as tall as a person in one hand. For large construction materials, they did not even need lifting puppets, simply tossing them up and down themselves.
Agile, steady, and immensely strong, they displayed outstanding advantages as construction workers.
"...Tch. A bunch of monkeys."
Yet their excellent performance also drew hostility.
Do not misunderstand—it was not the Featherfolk who had been hired, but the odd-job workers of other races from the Refugee Camp.
After finishing their own tasks, the Featherfolk supervisors simply chatted nearby. They had no intention of interfering in disputes among these outsiders.
But clearly, some had stood out too much, causing dissatisfaction among the other groups. Everyone knew the owner here was a "great philanthropist." He had handed out big bonuses just two days ago. If they worked well, perhaps they could receive even better treatment.
When one group could do the work of ten people, the others naturally seemed useless. For all they knew, they might not be needed tomorrow.
"...Ha, look how hard they're working. Just as you'd expect from
