You're Too Easygoing (Third Update)
Seeing Fan Yu, Liu Jian hurried over. "Boss, what happened?"
"Find out who owns that car."
Fan Yu pointed at the BMW Z4.
"Okay." Liu Jian nodded.
"Once you find out, get someone to tow it outside and smash it."
Liu Jian froze. But when he saw where the BMW Z4 was parked, then glanced at Miss Su standing nearby watching the show, he realized that his boss had been humiliated and embarrassed himself in front of Su Xi.
Without hesitation, he immediately said, "Okay, Boss. I'll handle it right away."
With that, he started making calls.
Before long, a tow truck and several security guards arrived. They hauled the BMW Z4 outside Financial Street, then began smashing it to pieces with a loud clatter.
By then, quite a crowd had gathered around, all watching the spectacle in stunned disbelief.
They were smashing a BMW!
Whoever was behind this had some serious nerve.
After Fan Yu told Su Xi to park the car, Liu Jian came over.
Leaning close to Fan Yu, he said quietly, "Boss, I found out. The owner is Zhang Zhi, son of Zhang Sheng, the general manager of Pingtai Financial Company."
"He's here for the reception?"
"That's right."
"Pingtai Financial Company is on Financial Street too?"
Liu Jian nodded. "It's in Rongshang Times Building. It's a pretty decent company, with annual profits exceeding a hundred million."
"A listed company?"
"No."
Fan Yu nodded and said calmly, "Look into them and report back to me."
"Okay."
Without saying anything else, Fan Yu smiled at Su Xi. "It's settled. Simple enough. Let's go."
Su Xi shot Fan Yu a glance. "Is this how Boss Fan usually handles things?"
Fan Yu shook his head. "I'm pretty easygoing, but I get a little hot-tempered sometimes. Sorry you had to see that."
Su Xi nodded. "Not bad. If it were me, I might've had security break the owner's legs. You really are quite easygoing."
Fan Yu was speechless. Big sister, this is a civilized society. Could you keep it low-key? No matter how impressive your father is, you can't be this violent, can you?
Still, what Su Xi said made sense. He would try it sometime if he got the chance.
The two entered Jinhua Building together. The specially decorated hall, with its starlit ceiling, was a dazzling sight.
But Su Xi's appearance instantly set everyone in the hall ablaze.
Countless gasps rang out, followed by praise and astonished stares.
"Wow, what a beauty."
"Is she some wealthy family's daughter?"
"I've never seen her before. She's never attended any of the previous receptions, has she? This must be her first time."
"Quick, follow her. Find a chance to get acquainted."
As Fan Yu led Su Xi toward the reception venue, he listened to the commotion behind them and smiled. "Looks like you're going to gain a lot of admirers today."
Su Xi's brows furrowed slightly. She hated occasions like this, where people were always staring at her. It made her deeply uncomfortable.
As Fan Yu and Su Xi entered the reception, a pack of "wolves" immediately followed behind them.
Once inside, Fan Yu swept his gaze around the room. But when he spotted someone, he lowered his head and said to Su Xi beside him, "I'll be leaving for a moment. I'll be back soon."
Su Xi nodded. "Mm."
Watching Fan Yu leave, Su Xi found a quiet spot, took a glass of red wine, and sat down silently.
Tianlong Group had an extensive range of businesses, with subsidiaries in both traditional industries and the internet sector. Naturally, it also had operations in the highly profitable financial industry, and Su Xi herself managed a financial company.
Since she was attending a reception held by a financial company, Su Xi also wanted to scout for talent and see whether she could recruit one or two people to inject some fresh blood into her company.
But after Su Xi was left alone, those wolves began to get ideas.
Su Xi's cold and aloof temperament was exceptionally alluring, and her expensive clothing only intensified the thoughts of some financial elites. If they could win over such a beautiful, wealthy woman, wouldn't they gain both the woman and the money?
"Hello, beautiful. My name is Zhang Zhi."
A man in an expensive suit, carrying himself with an air of nobility, extended his hand.
Su Xi frowned and looked up at Zhang Zhi.
Zhang Zhi wore what he believed was a charming smile. "My father is Zhang Sheng, the general manager of Pingtai Financial Company. You must be in the financial industry too, beautiful?"
"Perhaps we'll have a chance to work together in the future?"
Although Zhang Zhi acted extremely polite and refined, his eyes covertly roamed over Su Xi, sweeping from her delicate shoulders and collarbone all the way down.
Su Xi merely glanced at him indifferently and shook her head. "Not interested."
She had no interest whatsoever in this kind of rich second-generation heir who clearly just coasted through life. She had agreed to come here for two reasons: first, to strengthen her relationship with Fan Yu; second, to scout for talent. As for rich second-generation heirs—no matter how wealthy they were, could they really be richer than Fan Yu?
Zhang Zhi was quite patient. He did not mind Su Xi's rejection and pulled a business card from his pocket. "This is my business card."
Seeing how shamelessly persistent Zhang Zhi was, Su Xi took the card with an impatient expression and casually tossed it into the trash can beside her without saying a word.
"You've got personality." Zhang Zhi smiled. "Miss, isn't that a little inappropriate? I came here sincerely hoping to make friends. Isn't that rather rude?"
"I said I'm not interested in getting to know you. If you don't leave, I'll call security," Su Xi said coldly.
Meanwhile, Fan Yu spotted that familiar figure and called from behind him, "Liu Tianfeng?"
Liu Tianfeng had been chatting with several bosses from the financial industry. Upon hearing the voice, he turned around and said in surprise, "Boss?"
Fan Yu smiled and nodded. "How does an occasion like this feel?"
Liu Tianfeng nodded to the other bosses, then followed Fan Yu to one side.
"Honestly, Boss, it really is a little hard to get used to. These people are all old foxes. Trying to deal with them is exhausting."
Fan Yu smiled faintly. "You'll get used to it sooner or later. That's just how the business world is. No matter how unwilling you are, you have to adapt. How can anyone in business have no friends? Work hard. You'll definitely become a financial tycoon in the future—you have great potential."
Hearing Fan Yu's encouragement, Liu Tianfeng nodded firmly. "Thank you, Boss."
His gaze fell on Su Xi, and Fan Yu patted Liu Tianfeng on the shoulder. "I still have something to take care of, so I won't keep you company."
Liu Tianfeng nodded. "Go ahead, Boss."
After saying that, Fan Yu walked toward Su Xi.
"Excuse me, sir. This lady doesn't like being harassed. Please leave."
Fan Yu came to Su Xi's side and spoke to Zhang Zhi.
Zhang Zhi frowned. "And you are?"
Fan Yu replied calmly, "Her fiancé."
"Her fiancé?" Zhang Zhi looked toward Su Xi, wanting to judge from her expression whether Fan Yu was telling the truth.
But when he saw that Su Xi's expression had not changed at all, he knew Fan Yu was probably telling the truth.
"Heh, it seems you're quite an important man, sir. Your fiancée is very beautiful. I wonder where you work?" Zhang Zhi did not leave, instead trying to probe Fan Yu for information.
Fan Yu smiled. "I just run a small company. You probably haven't heard of it."
"Oh, just a small company. That's fine. I feel we really hit it off, sir. How about we become friends? Maybe we can work together sometime in the future?"
After learning that Fan Yu merely ran a small company, Zhang Zhi felt rather disdainful.
He didn't have much capability, yet he had found such a beautiful fiancée. Wasn't that just inviting others to covet her? He would first use his status to befriend him, then find an opportunity to get this beauty for himself.
Fan Yu shook his head. "No need. My fiancée doesn't like strangers. Please leave."
