Chapter Summaries

Lu Su and his allies defeated the demons in the secret realm, then returned to find Imperial Court Card Masters occupying the entrance. After receiving a large mission reward and buying a rare Field Material, Lu Su learned from Gu Wu that the Spirit Summoning Society had helped the Imperial Court cause Ye Zhou’s secret realm to descend, and that Ye Zhou might soon escape.

• Lu Su defeated Liu Wenyi with Altria’s help, collected his dropped material, and joined Ulquiorra, who had killed Xuan Ji.
• Lu Su met Cui Dazhu, who reported that one demon had escaped, and they returned to the secret realm entrance to find Imperial Court Card Masters in place of the Ande City team.
• Gu Zhi told Lu Su that the Imperial Court Card Masters had arrived claiming to help, and Lu Su sensed someone watching him as he left the secret realm.

Jacques, a human researcher loyal to the Demon Army, abducted people in Jeju for experiments while Lu Su and Cui Dazhu investigated the Guiyi Cult. Lu Su tracked the cult to an abandoned hospital and confronted Jacques there.

• Jacques ordered his subordinates to capture more people for experiments after learning the Association was occupied by the Secret Realm invasion.
• Huo Jing briefed Lu Su and Cui Dazhu on Jeju’s Jade Grade Secret Realm and asked them to deal with the Guiyi Cult.
• Lu Su contacted Zhuang Cheng through the Sub-machine and learned that disappearances near an abandoned hospital might be linked to Grafted Demons.

Lu Su and Cui Dazhu confronted Jacques at an abandoned hospital, where Jacques revealed a Corpse Giant made from human remains and threatened Jeju City. Ulquiorra transformed and attacked, but Jacques charged toward the city, forcing Lu Su to summon Las Noches as the battle continued.

• Ulquiorra killed Jacques, but Jacques survived, and Lu Su sent Cui Dazhu to fight the other Guiyi Cult members.
• A Corpse Giant made from human corpses burst from underground, and Jacques revealed it as Experiment Number Three.

Lu Su used Ulquiorra’s Field Card to kill Jacques and dismantle the Corpse Giant, then helped Jeju City survive the Secret Realm invasion. After leaving Jeju, he went to Kurumi’s home in Nandu and began telling her that the Imperial Court had sent people to assassinate him.

• Jacques tried to flee, but Ulquiorra’s Nothingness left him indifferent to death, and Lu Su’s Spirit Spear killed him.
• The Corpse Giant collapsed as the ordinary people and low-grade Card Masters composing it succumbed to Nothingness.
• Lu Su left the cleanup to Huo Jing and Cui Dazhu and headed south to support Jeju City against the Secret Realm demons.

• Lord Sheng sent a sinister young man to Quancheng to hunt Lu Su and ordered an accomplice to cover up two deaths as a murder-suicide.
• Lu Su told Zhang Jingxing that the Imperial Court had tried to assassinate him and had created the secret realm suppressing Ye Diantang.
• Lu Su revealed that the Spirit Summoning Society had provided the information and showed Zhang Jingxing messages from a sub-machine.
• Zhang Jingxing initially refused to trust Lu Su fully, then left to report the matter to Fang Wenlong and Ji Weirui.
• Fang Wenlong and Ji Weirui arrived, accepted that Lu Su was not a traitor, and said they would inform Ye Diantang before going on a killing spree.

Lu Su killed the Imperial Court assassin Sheng Hanzu after surviving his attempted assassination, then left the battlefield before investigators arrived. Qi Ran suspected Lu Su had been involved and recognized that Lord Sun was concealing the Imperial Court’s role.
