Lu Su learned that Jin Ping planned to bring a Hall of Fame Grade Secret Realm tied to the Four Calamity Gods into Shanghai City, and he suspected Jin Ping wanted to copy their ability to devour Secret Realms. After reporting his suspicions to Bai Yueming, Lu Su prepared to return to Shanghai City as a deputy in the Card Master Association.

• Jin Ping told Lu Su to seek a post in Shanghai City before receiving the details of his mission, and said he would be conducting Demonization experiments in the City within a City.
• Lu Su collected five Diamond Grade materials from Gu Wu, then obtained One Who Breaks Skills with Strength (Red) from Zhang Jingxing.
• Bai Yueming told Lu Su that Master Fang and Master Ji had proposed abolishing North Capital and making Nandu the capital.

• Lu Su returned to Shanghai City and met Jiang Wang before President Yan Wenlai introduced him to the association staff, including Vice President Che Yu.

Lu Su and the Association investigated a Space Rift that formed beside the Demon's Nest, only for a Master Grade Nation-Destroying Fox Demon and its allies to attack Shanghai City. As the defenders struggled to hold back the demons, Lu Su sent Luffy to face Bullet, who began awakening his power.

• Lu Su questioned an old man who had discovered the forming Secret Realm Entrance and ordered the Association to investigate him and nearby surveillance footage.

After learning that Yi people had appeared on the Southeast coast, Lu Su investigated their hideout and captured their leader, Guga. The interrogation suggested the attackers were only a weak force sent by Marcus, but Lu Su suspected a larger plan and prepared for further trouble.
