The veins on the chancellor's forehead throbbed wildly. "Grand Scholar Xie may be compassionate toward all under heaven, but how will you withstand them on the battlefield? Are you going to throw away the lives of what few soldiers our Eastern Domain Immortal Dynasty has left for nothing?"
Xie Dong pondered in silence for a long while...
He had nothing to say!
This was probably the first time, since he and Chancellor Guo Hong had begun to stand in opposing camps within the court all these years, that he had failed to strike back.
Because he could not strike back.
He knew that the Undying Legion was not absolutely impossible to kill. There were two ways to kill them. The first was to borrow some kind of Heavenly Dao Power—for instance, formations. Yet such killings were only temporary. The Undying Chains of those Undying Creatures had not truly been severed, and sooner or later, they would revive. However, Undying Creatures killed across realms took an extremely long time to reactivate their Undying Chains—often hundreds or even thousands of years. For a matter as time-sensitive as war, that was no different from truly killing them.
By the time several hundred years had passed, the objectives of that war would already have been achieved. The war itself would have become history. Who would care whether the soldiers of that year
