Background

Chen Si was a disciple of the Thousand Mechanisms Sect and possessed self-made prosthetic legs so realistic that outsiders would not recognize them as artificial. Before joining Lin Su, she had reportedly served as a navy scout and was known for exceptional lightness skills. 53

Ten years before her parents were formally exonerated, the Thousand Mechanisms Sect was ordered to construct the Ming Mausoleum. Chen Si’s mother destroyed the sect’s Thousand Mechanisms Lamp, framed Chen Si for the act, broke her leg, and expelled her from the sect so that the Chen bloodline could survive outside its coming purge. The sect was later suppressed and annihilated. 314 882

Lin Su met Chen Si through Uncle Deng and invited her to Lin Manor alongside Liu Xing'er. She accepted eagerly, pledging herself to the revival of the Lin household and serving publicly as a maid. 53 54 Her practical skills soon made her an indispensable manager of Lin Su’s industrial ventures.

After the Power of No Way was removed from her body, Chen Si overcame much of her insecurity over her age and disability. Dark Night’s acceptance of her as a sister further helped her openly accept her place among Lin Su’s women. 130

On the twenty-fifth day of the twelfth lunar month, Lin Su arranged a memorial service for Chen Si’s parents and fallen sect members at Falling Eagle Mountain. Her parents received posthumous honors, while Chen Si was granted the title of County Princess Qianji. 882
