Zhang Sanfeng joins the Card Draw Group as a Wudang Daoist. He discovers that Merit can be exchanged for points at a one-to-one rate and explains to the group how to check its otherwise invisible balance 9 16. Later, after killing Great Yuan soldiers sent to arrest him, he finds that doing so increased his Merit by ten points. Further tests lead him to plan another campaign against Great Yuan forces 64.

When the Six Great Sects come to Wudang demanding that his disciple Zhang Cuishan reveal Xie Xun's whereabouts, Zhang Sanfeng accepts good-and-evil-detecting glasses from Liu Feng and livestreams the confrontation 65 66. He overpowers the visiting sect leaders without killing them and secures their retreat 67.

Zhang Sanfeng initially spares them because he fears their deaths would throw the martial arts world into chaos and benefit the Great Yuan court. Liu Feng instead urges him to consider an alliance with the Ming Cult and a broader plan to overthrow Great Yuan rule. Zhang Sanfeng accepts that his thinking had been too narrow 68.
