"You're not from this world," the Emperor said calmly. "Where did you come from?"
Faced with the Emperor's question, Xiao Nan tilted her head and answered carelessly, "I don't remember."
She had no memories at all of anything before she came to this world.

The Emperor closed his eyes and began to dream in broad daylight.
He dreamed of the Primordial World a hundred years ago, searching for traces of Xiao Nan within that dream world.
Unfortunately, there was no Xiao Nan in the Primordial World a hundred years ago.
He continued dreaming. Time receded within the dream world: a thousand years ago, ten thousand years ago, a hundred thousand years ago, two hundred thousand years ago...
The farther back in time he went, the more fragmented the dream world became.
He could only see scattered, broken images.
Yet within those images, he found some clues.
"You came from the distant ancient past."
The Emperor opened his eyes and slowly exhaled a breath of stale air.
That great dream had consumed a considerable amount of his strength. If he had not seen that Xiao Nan bore no ill intent, he would never have chosen to dream at this very moment.
"Unfortunately, the time is far too distant. Everything in the dream is like the moon in a mirror, flowers in water. I cannot see it clearly."
The Mirror of Dreams slowly floated out from within his long sleeve.
The Emperor looked at Xiao Nan and said calmly, "Enter the dream with me. I can help you recall your past."
