What met their eyes was an enormous underground hall, over a hundred meters high and stretching thousands of kilometers in both length and width. Yet that was not the real problem. The true problem was that at the other end of the hall lay hundreds upon thousands of branching paths—too many to count.
Over a thousand kilometers meant over a thousand entrances. No one knew where they led.
Everyone was instantly dumbfounded. Which of these thousand entrances were they supposed to take?
Which one was the right path?
Doubts welled up in everyone's hearts. They knew full well that these thousand paths could not all lead to the base. It would already be extraordinarily fortunate if even one-tenth of them led there.
In other words, the remaining nine-tenths were most likely death traps. This was also a commonly used method for evading enemy attacks. Just these countless branching paths alone could leave everyone spinning in circles. Unless someone from the Blood Alliance of old came back to life, no one could possibly determine whether these paths were safe.
By that estimate, perhaps not even half the people here would make it through the passages and reach the base. This was undoubtedly a terrifying ratio.
At that moment, a burly man took the lead and roared, "I don't care anymore! If you want to stand here hemming and hawing, suit yourselves! All I know is that if we don't go in now, the experts from the four great sea regions will sweep away all the benefits, and we'll have come here for nothing!"
After saying that, he merely took a quick look around before choosing a path and charging inside.
Seeing the burly man act, everyone became tempted. More and more sounds came from behind them as increasing numbers of people
