Ye Xiwen's thoughts raced. Though he did not know the origins of this Black Shadow, the fact that it had no physical form yet could contend barehanded against a Dao Artifact was truly extraordinary.
It had likely covered itself with divine sense to resist the Dao Artifact. Though this method appeared simple, it actually placed extremely high demands on an Emperor's Primordial Spirit.
Only if one's divine sense was powerful to a shocking, world-defying degree could it be done. Even Ye Xiwen as he was now, though confident he could fight a Dao Artifact barehanded, would not dare claim that he could casually block one using only divine sense.
This Black Shadow was by no means an ordinary figure and must have had an extraordinary background. Unfortunately, precisely because it had no physical body, it would scatter with a single blow and could not even withstand one attack from Ye Xiwen. Once that layer of divine sense was broken, it was not even a match for an ordinary Emperor.
It had merely exploited everyone's lack of understanding of its characteristics to succeed.
Everyone hurried onward. Naturally, Ye Xiwen could not fall behind and quickly followed. Before long, they entered a great hall. Here, the suppression from the laws was no longer as severe, and everyone could see.
From afar, however, they saw stone statues standing everywhere throughout the hall. Every statue was lifelike, carrying a terrifying majesty that seemed to loom over all beneath heaven.
"Could these... possibly be... Emperors?" an Imperial-level being could not help saying. Having stepped into this realm himself, he naturally understood such matters well. In his eyes, these statues actually possessed something of an Emperor's might and bearing.
"They can't be real..." The others sensed it as well, but still found it hard to believe.
