Beidou Was Playing a Very Big Game

The official members of Beidou were the fourteen Star Constellations. Aside from newcomers with enormous potential like Ye Xiwen, most of these Star Constellations were at Half-step Great Saint Paragon or even the Great Saint Realm.

Above them were members named after the Big Dipper Seven Stars. They ranked a level higher than the Star Constellations, with only seven slots available. Only exceptionally formidable Great Saints had a chance of taking those positions.

These were Beidou's seven great Star Lords. Above them was the Star Lord—the ruler of all Beidou. The hierarchy was clear and distinct, layer upon layer.

Yao Guang ranked last among the Big Dipper Seven Stars, yet even to become the Yao Guang Star Lord, one had to at least be among the strongest experts deep within the Great Saint Realm.

There were no shortage of warriors at his level within Beidou. Some Star Constellations even possessed strength far greater than his. Whether in seniority, strength, or contributions, none of it should have been his turn.

Thus, at this stage, he had never even considered the possibility of becoming a Star Lord.

Seeing the surprise finally appear on Ye Xiwen's face, Jiaomujiao revealed a smug smile at last. "Well? You didn't expect that, did you? They say the Star Lord personally made the decision!"

Ye Xiwen fell silent for a moment. So the matter involved the Star Lord. No wonder he could settle the matter of appointing a Star Lord with a single word.

Beidou could only be considered a loose organization. Though it had a clear division of ranks, there was no explicit subordinate relationship among its official members. Thus, even a Star Lord might not necessarily be able to command certain Star Constellations—especially those immensely powerful ones whose strength was comparable to a Star Lord's.
