Background / History
The True Martial School's origin predates reliable record. It may have existed since the last Demon Realm war—or earlier—and has produced numerous major figures of the Southern Wilderness. Its founding ancestor is said to have meditated at Water Moon Cave before establishing the school's lineage. 288 494
In its prime, the school ruled the True Martial Realm. Its founding ancestor used the True Martial Stone Sword, refined from an Outer Territory stone containing profound martial principles, to drive back Remnant Race experts and demon-beast kings. 394 807
Not long after its establishment, the school fought an Outer Territory Star Beast and suppressed its evil god beneath the Outer Territory Battlefield. The subsequent loss of experts and legacies contributed to the school's long decline, allowing former subordinate powers and other rivals to rise. 369 394
Despite this decline, the school retained control of the Southern Region, extensive ancient texts, secret inheritances, formations, and the most complete star charts in the True Martial Realm. 394 430
Organization

| True Disciple | Elite rank; disciples with exceptional special physiques may be cultivated at this level from entry. 350 |
| Personal Disciple | Highest listed disciple rank; extraordinary entrants may be cultivated at this level. 288 350 |
Admission considers talent and future potential as well as current cultivation. Assessments are divided across the True Dao, Half-step Legendary, Legendary, and Saint Realms, and exceptional candidates may receive accelerated promotion. 288
The school traditionally opened recruitment once every hundred years. After its later expansion, it began recruiting once every ten years. 288 1869
Inheritances
The school is built around innumerable mountain peaks, each representing an inheritance. Its Top 100 Inheritances are reserved for the school's elite, while the Ten Great Inheritances receive far greater resources and are led by Chief Seats. 350 356 697
| Inheritance / Site | Details |
|---|---|
| Duwu Peak | One of the Ten Great Inheritances; historically central to the school, and the lineage of a Supreme Palace Lord. It hosted the four-faction Martial Meet within a pocket dimension. 457 |
| Hidden Star Peak | Once a Top 100 inheritance, it later rose to become the school's foremost inheritance. Huang Wuji and Ye Xiwen emerged from this lineage. 1869 1870 |
| Wanren Peak | A Ten Great Inheritance and a foundational destination for sword cultivators in the True Martial Realm; it has remained among the top inheritances without decline. 677 |
| Jingshi Academy | A distinct inheritance based in a valley rather than on a mountain; a Confucian sacred ground that recruits learned scholars and influential secular figures. 677 |
| Water Moon Cave Heaven | A region of the True Martial Secret Realm containing forty-nine major inheritances. Mastering one can support growth into the Great Saint Realm. 494 |
Leadership
The school is led by the Supreme Palace Lord, who presides over major affairs and represents the school before other powers. 458 460
After the Feather Transformation Church war, Huang Wuji was elevated as the next Palace Lord to demonstrate that the school retained powerful successors. 815 821
A later period of crisis began when Huang Wuji was severely injured while wielding the True Martial Stone Sword against the Abyssal Demon Lord, leaving him comatose and creating a leadership vacuum. 1868 1869

Defenses and Resources
True Martial Stone Sword
The True Martial Stone Sword is the school’s ultimate magic item, created from the stone that formed the foundation of its lineage. Its historical wielder used it to establish the school’s reputation through war against powerful enemies. 807
During the Feather Transformation Church invasion, seven Transcendent Realm Ancestral Masters sacrificed themselves to activate the sword through a hidden formation. 807
- It is powerful enough to deter Outer Territory overlords. 817
- Its use carries severe consequences; Huang Wuji was critically injured while controlling it against the Abyssal Demon Lord. 1868
- The school’s younger generation can employ sword qi derived from it, though not with its full authority. 1866
Formations
The school maintains numerous formations powered by its underground Spiritual Veins. During the Feather Transformation Church war, their divine light could erase entire armies of Dao Soldiers. 789 794
- Seven Stars Yuan Severing Formation — A powerful and malevolent formation deployed against the Feather Transformation Immortal Slaughtering Blade. 805 806
- Hidden formation of the True Martial Stone Sword — Activated by the blood sacrifice of seven Ancestral Masters. 807
- Territorial formations — Used to defend the school against intruders and contain high-level conflicts. 414 794
Star charts
Because it once ruled the entire True Martial Realm and mobilized its resources to explore the Chaotic Sky Territory, the school possesses the realm’s most complete star charts. Access to more accurate charts is restricted by rank, with the finest chart held by the Supreme Palace Lord. 430
Story Role / Major Arcs
Century recruitment
The school’s once-in-a-century opening gathers geniuses from throughout the Southern Region and beyond. Its standards are so high that True Dao experts are generally servant disciples, while Legendary Realm experts begin as outer disciples. 288
More than a million martial artists converged on Welcoming City during Ye Xiwen’s recruitment generation. The most gifted candidates, including those with special physiques, drew direct attention from major inheritances. 350
Outer Territory Battlefield incident
The discovery of the Star Colossus seal ended a newcomer trial early and exposed Xuanyuan Hall’s infiltration of the training grounds. Xuanyuan Hall disciples had murdered True Martial School disciples while seeking the sealed entity and lost inheritances. 369 374 387
The school locked down the surrounding space and nearly went to war with Xuanyuan Hall before accepting compensation through an envoy’s negotiation. 387
Four-faction Martial Meet
The school hosted a Martial Meet involving Xuanyuan Hall, East Sea Huantian Island, and Southern Barbarian Fire Cloud Cave. Millions of its disciples attended as spectators, while the event served both as a competition and a public measure of each faction’s strength. 393 456 457
Feather Transformation Church invasion
The Feather Transformation Church launched a full-scale invasion of the school’s Outer Territory Battlefield, deploying Great Saints, Dao Soldiers, formations, and the Feather Transformation Immortal Slaughtering Blade. 755 794 805
The school survived by unveiling deep reserves of formations, hidden experts, and the True Martial Stone Sword. It destroyed nearly the entire invading army, but lost seven Transcendent Realm experts and many Saint Realm and Great Saint experts. 806 807 816
Recovery and renewed prominence
After repelling the invasion, the school spent three years expelling encroaching forces from its territory, then sealed its mountain for thirty years to recover. It continued patrolling and defending the Southern Region during this period. 816 817
Its survival against the Feather Transformation Church demonstrated hidden strength that other forces had underestimated. Other local powers, stripped of the school’s protection, became targets for Outer Territory overlords. 817
Unification and later crisis
Under Huang Wuji’s leadership and aided by Ye Xiwen’s campaigns, the school later unified the True Martial Realm and became its central power. This prosperity increased both its resources and the quality of its younger generation. 1868 1869 1875
The rise of the Demon Worship Sect and the injury of Huang Wuji later exposed internal leadership struggles and left the school vulnerable to renewed external threats. 1865 1868 1874
