Twisting its big butt, the Brown Bear glanced at Xu Yang before turning and heading into the dense forest.

The cave was not deep, only seven or eight meters or so, but it had the shape of a gourd—narrow outside and wide within. Near the entrance, it was only a little over a meter wide, and because the roof had half collapsed, Xu Yang had to crouch halfway to squeeze inside. Farther in, the cave walls widened until the space was nearly equivalent to a living room of more than thirty square meters.

After choosing a relatively dry patch of ground to set down his spoils, Xu Yang finally lay down to rest. More than half an hour had passed since the Lightning-struck Fruit had been picked. Without the lightning, its fragrance and glow had long since withdrawn. To Xu Yang now, it looked much like an ordinary apple the size of a fist.

Should I eat the meat first, or the fruit?

The fishy smell of the snake meat kept stimulating Xu Yang. Moreover, seeing the Brown Bear's fur stand on end after it ate the fruit had left him somewhat uneasy.
