Xu Yang saw the fear in the Brown Bear's eyes, but there was nothing he could do.
The oppression of higher lifeforms over lower lifeforms was especially obvious within the Monster Race. There was no way to change it.
Crack
He squeezed through the canopy, snapping countless branches. He was now nearly as tall as those Ancient Woods; as he moved through the forest, his head scraped through the treetops.
He could not return to the cave either, so Xu Yang simply swept down several Ancient Woods with his tail, cleared an open space beside the pool, and lay down. The pool, which had once been fairly decent with a diameter of over twenty meters, now looked too small—like a shallow puddle before him.
Host: Xu Yang Race: Howling Moon Demon Wolf Strength: Star Level Tier 1 Resources: 0/3
"Damn it, so it doesn't work?" Xu Yang stared at the panel, looking at the glaring 0 beside Resources as he muttered under his breath.
Before advancing, he had imagined that the resources he had accumulated at Planet Level would still be usable at Star Level. Unexpectedly, the system had not given him that chance.
But upon further thought, Xu Yang accepted it. If he could operate like that, then as long as he accumulated several thousand units of resources at Planet Level and hid somewhere to draw Domains and Laws, it would not take long before he directly broke through to True God...
Casting aside those unrealistic thoughts, Xu Yang began to consider his current situation.
"Now that I've broken through to Star Level, the resources in the Lightning Strike Mountain Range and the forest can no longer satisfy me. I need to start traveling around the world and strive to break through to Universe Level as soon as possible. Only then will I have the capital to cross the universe." Xu Yang silently made a plan for himself. Based on his hunting over this period, he was the only Planet Level creature in the Lightning Strike Mountain Range. The forest definitely had Planet Level creatures, but not many.
From his secret observations, he estimated that there were fewer than two digits' worth. He had no idea why such a vast forest had so few high-level demon beasts.
Therefore, the Lightning Strike Mountain Range was no longer suitable as his base. Traveling around the world in pursuit of Planet Level creatures was the proper path.
Everything was for leveling up!
Rustle, rustle, rustle
Xu Yang had been closing his eyes and thinking when his sharp hearing suddenly caught Traces of faint movement.
"Hm? This Brown Bear really knows what to do."
Seeing that the Brown Bear was carrying chunks of Flood Dragon meat for him, Xu Yang could not help but praise it inwardly. After spending this period together, he had truly come to appreciate the Brown Bear's intelligence!
"Unfortunately, it's too weak."
If possible, Xu Yang would not have minded taking the Brown Bear along. Having a little brother who could serve him at all times would make life much more comfortable. But unfortunately, he was going to travel the world. The gap in their strength was too great, and it would seriously slow him down.
Gurgle, gurgle~~~
The Brown Bear dragged over two huge chunks of Flood Dragon meat for Xu Yang. In its understanding, Xu Yang's drastic change meant that his strength had broken through, and this was when he needed to replenish his energy the most.
Without standing on ceremony, Xu Yang happened to have an appetite. He directly speared a chunk of meat about as large as his head with his claws and chewed it up with crunch, crunch like he was eating a sausage, not even sparing the bones.
Seeing Xu Yang eat so quickly, the Brown Bear hurriedly turned around and continued dragging over Flood Dragon meat.
Just like that.
The four chunks of Flood Dragon meat that had remained over the past few days all went into Xu Yang's stomach in less than half an hour.
Burp~~
Xu Yang let out a thunderous, satisfied burp, still wanting more. Having grown used to Flood Dragon meat, pork and beef now tasted as hard to swallow as leather shoes.
But unfortunately, the Flood Dragon had all been eaten.
It was easy to go from frugality to luxury, but hard to go from luxury back to frugality.
Roar~~
Xu Yang praised the Brown Bear once, making it ecstatic. He would not be leaving the Lightning Strike Mountain Range for the time being. There were still several Planet Level demon beasts in the forest, and those were all mobile resources. He intended to harvest them all before leaving.
The only thing giving Xu Yang a bit of a headache was lodging. Looking at the cave entrance that was only half his height, he could not help but smile bitterly.
Leveling up too quickly was not without side effects. This was already the second "property" he had changed since coming to this world. Each time, he had to find another place to live after only half a month.
"Looks like I can't avoid sleeping rough."
These ordinary rocks were probably as soft as tofu beneath his claws, but Xu Yang had been a computer science college student in his previous life. He did not understand structural mechanics at all. Digging and expanding a cave was easy, but he knew nothing about how to keep it stable...
After digging out the cave, the most likely outcome was that one night, he would be buried beneath collapsing Mountains and rocks.
Not wanting to test whether his body could withstand at least hundreds of thousands or even millions of tons of earth and stone, Xu Yang decided to endure a little hardship. He would treat it as a rehearsal for his future travels.
Just as Xu Yang was worrying about lodging.
Both the Jade Crystal Mountain Range and the Frost Mountain Range stirred into unrest.
Jade Crystal Mountain Range.
Before the palace at the valley floor, a gigantic Azure-Eyed Baboon, fully sixteen meters tall and as broad as a city wall, sat on the ground and quietly listened to the loud roars of its clansmen.
On the peaks surrounding the valley, many Azure-Eyed Baboons clung to sprawling branches, vines, and strange rocks, glaring furiously toward the valley floor.
There stood the Star Level leader and nine Planet Level chiefs.
"My King, let us fight!!"
"That's right! We can't just let this go!"
"It must be repaid in blood!!"
Surrounding the Star Level leader, the nine Planet Level chiefs all wore savage expressions, their eyes bloodshot. When had they ever suffered such humiliation? The esteemed Azure-Eyed Baboon clan had actually had two Planet Level members captured and used as Blood Food!!
They had always treated other demonic beasts as Blood Food, yet now some demon dared to provoke them.
How could they not be furious?!
Though they possessed considerable intelligence and the rudiments of civilization, demons were still demons. Once something got them worked up, they stopped caring about anything else.
Their fury burned like fire in their veins. To hell with everything else—they would fight first and talk later.
Compared to his clansmen, whose minds had been clouded by rage and who only cried out for war, the Star Level leader had far more to consider.
The cries around him rose wave after wave, yet he sat like an old monk in meditation, completely unmoved.
Only after a long while, when the surrounding clamor subsided, did he open his eyes.
At that moment, those emerald eyes were like two gleaming stars, shining with profound, calm light. He slowly swept his gaze over the surrounding clansmen. Wherever his gaze fell, they all felt that undeniable majesty and composure.
"I understand your anger deeply." The Star Level leader's voice was low and powerful, as though it could pierce through every clansman's heart. "But war is no child's play. What we need is strategy and planning, not a blind charge."
The nine Planet Level chiefs looked at one another. Though the rage in their hearts had yet to fade, the leader's words were like cold water poured over their heads, calming them somewhat.
"Since the enemy dared to act so recklessly, they must have something to rely on." The Star Level leader continued, "We need to understand their strength, uncover their Details, and then formulate a detailed battle plan."
"But our clansmen..." one Planet Level chief could not help shouting.
"I know." The Star Level leader nodded. "But impulsiveness will only drag us into deeper trouble. We need calmness. We need wisdom. I will dispatch a scouting team to infiltrate behind enemy lines and determine the enemy's true capabilities."
As the leader's Words fell, the clansmen began discussing among themselves.
Though they remained unwilling in their hearts, the leader's composure and decisiveness left them with no choice but to be convinced.
"During this time, we must strengthen the defenses of our territory and ensure our safety," the Star Level leader continued. "At the same time, we must begin preparing supplies and make thorough preparations for the coming war."
The nine Planet Level chiefs all nodded in agreement. They knew that the leader's decision was correct.
War required not only courage and hot blood, but also wisdom and strategy. Throughout the years that had Passed, it had always been the leader who guided them from victory to victory.
