History

The Lin Clan sent Elder Tao and a group of junior representatives to Yan City after news emerged of a Nirvana Ancient Tomb. The visitors regarded the Yan City Lin Family as a subordinate branch, with Lin Feng attempting to pressure Qing Tan and dismissing the branch family's juniors. Lin Tianci crippled Lin Feng and defeated Lin Chen, forcing the delegation to curb its open arrogance. Lin Chen, Lin Feng, and others later apologized through Elder Tao. 99 101 102 132

The clan convened its Clan Gathering in Lin City, drawing experts and factions from across the Great Yan Dynasty. Branch Families received four participant slots, while the main clan imposed no such limit on its eligible juniors. Lin Zhentian believed the Yan City branch had been deliberately slighted through poor seating and difficult matchups against main-clan opponents. 263 268 270 272

During the Gathering, Lin Dong challenged the clan's champion, Lin Langtian. After Lin Dong gained the advantage, a group of Creation Realm elders intervened under the pretext of enforcing clan law. Lin Tianci scattered their attacks and injured them, exposing the hostility of the faction protecting Lin Langtian. 307 309

Lin Dong ultimately defeated Lin Langtian and was declared Gathering champion. Lin Fan and several elders resisted honoring the promised rewards, with some proposing to expel the Yan City branch and seize its assets. Lin Tianci answered by announcing that the Yan City Lin Family would permanently break away from the Lin Clan; Lin Zhentian accepted the decision rather than allow his grandsons to suffer further grievances. 323 324 326

Despite the schism, Great Elder Lin Mu later fulfilled the champion's reward by escorting Lin Dong to the Clan Treasury, where he claimed the Spirit Treasure Heavy Prison Peak. The Treasury incident that followed damaged the clan's prestige further and led to Lin Zhi's removal as its overseer. 339 340 347 348

The Lin Clan subsequently dispatched Lin Mu, Lin Dong, Lin Tianci, and more than a hundred experts toward the Imperial City for the Seed Selection. 350

Leadership

• Lin Fan — Clan Leader during the Gathering; prioritized the clan's reputation and Lin Langtian's standing over honoring Lin Dong's victory. He was gravely injured during the conflict with Lin Tianci. 270 324 337

Internal Factions

The clan is divided by competing elder factions. The Black-robed Elder's group tied its interests to Lin Langtian's future and was prepared to violate the Gathering's rules to preserve his prestige. • Lin City serves as the Lin Clan's territory and is treated as its private domain rather than ordinary Great Yan Dynasty land. 264
