Violent lightning raged around it as it flapped its only remaining wing wildly. Yet for some reason, clutched in its remaining talon was that petrifying lizard.
Its talon had pierced into the petrifying lizard's back, gripping the latter's spine tight. The petrifying lizard struggled madly, constantly spewing petrifying venom, but before the venom could touch the Thunderbird, it was evaporated by the violent electric fire around it.
As if it knew the attack method it prided itself on could not deal with the Thunderbird, the petrifying lizard suddenly opened its jaws and bit down hard on the Thunderbird's mangled leg.
At the same time, the Thunderbird was also frantically pecking at the petrifying lizard's head with its sharp beak, splitting its skull open in a few strikes.
Blood sprayed wildly through the air, both the petrifying lizard's and the Thunderbird's. That blood mixed with brain matter and venom, falling like a foul, filthy rain, drenching Murphy from head to toe.
The blood was poisonous, corroding his skin, and the intense pain jolted him awake from his daze once more.
Instinctively, he looked at his wand. His right arm seemed to be broken, white bone stubs exposed, but his hand was still gripping the wand tightly—or rather, the wand's handle.
His wand had actually snapped too.
All that remained in his hand was a broken stump, pale blue magical lightning flickering weakly at the break.
Then he heard a cry.
He raised his eyes and saw the Thunderbird swallow the petrifying lizard's brain.
He suddenly remembered that in the magical creature materials he had read, Thunderbirds did indeed prey on petrifying lizards, and the petrifying lizard's brain was like a hallucinogen to Thunderbirds, able to greatly lessen their pain.
Sure enough, after swallowing the petrifying lizard's brain, the Thunderbird stopped wailing.
