"Compared to Professor Dumbledore, we haven't actually taken part in teaching. The difficulties and challenges involved aren't something we can casually speculate about."
"Perhaps we should gain a more comprehensive understanding before reaching a conclusion."
"This... But are we supposed to stay here for an entire year?"
Although Murphy was a newcomer, his influence had surpassed that of Lucius Malfoy and even the former Runcorn in just a few days, thanks to his barrage of gold. No one dared dismiss his words.
However, they were school governors, not professors. They couldn't possibly spend a year or two learning about and supervising how the professors taught, could they?
"Gentlemen, what is our goal?"
"Did we come here specifically to punish a certain professor? To pin certain past mistakes on one person?" Murphy shook his head. "No. What we want is to raise the quality of Hogwarts education to a higher level and cultivate more powerful, useful wizards!"
"Therefore, identifying the problems and finding those who should be held responsible are only secondary matters. Solving those problems—or helping flawed professors teach their students better—is what we ought to be doing!"
The governors all nodded at that. It was sound reasoning.
They had not initially intended to target anyone. They had simply been shocked by the quality of the Hogwarts professors.
"Murphy, do you have any good ideas?" the female governor asked.
"I have an idea. We should give these professors an opportunity to prove themselves."
"We can choose one governor to be stationed at Hogwarts, where they can gain a real-time understanding of the school's teaching situation, supervise it, promptly identify and resolve problems, and guide Hogwarts in a better direction."
"I believe that is what the Ministry of Magic, as well as all the wizards of Britain, would like to see."
