The Hogwarts teaching hearing was held at the Wizengamot as scheduled.
Three representatives from the school Board of Governors, along with Headmaster Dumbledore and Deputy Headmistress McGonagall, were invited to attend the hearing and deliver a report on the quality of education at Hogwarts.
At the meeting, the three governors pointed out that Hogwarts's teaching methods and standards did indeed still have certain problems. To that end, the Board of Governors had decided to send one of its members—Murphy Darkholme—to serve as a resident governor. As the "Hogwarts Educational Inspector," he would become deeply involved in school affairs, gaining an understanding of, supervising, and guiding Hogwarts's educational work in hopes of improving its teaching standards.
Murphy also spoke at the hearing, promising to do everything in his power to improve the school's teaching quality, identify problems, and solve them. He further proposed that, in order to improve the students' lacking "practical abilities," he would serve as the professor of "Practical Studies" and participate directly in the school's teaching work.
The Ministry of Magic approved the Board of Governors' decision and announced that the hearing would be reconvened one year later to assess the results of the reforms.
And so, four years after graduating, Murphy Darkholme became an official Hogwarts professor.
"Dumbledore." The door to the headmaster's office was pushed open, and Professor McGonagall walked in. She did not look particularly pleased. "Though I know you must have your own reasons, why? Why would you allow an outsider to tell our professors what to do? Is there something about this that I still don't know?"
"Minerva." Dumbledore picked up a packet from his desk. "Would you like to try these Pop Rocks? Murphy gave them to me. They crackle and pop in your mouth. Quite amusing..."
"No, thank you." Minerva
