Murphy!
Tom suddenly felt inexplicably nervous. He hurriedly put away the diary and looked around. No stinky socks were sticking out anywhere.
He had just finished tidying his room when the door opened.
"Th-thank you for coming to pick me up..."
He gathered all his courage and practically finished speaking with his eyes closed.
But there was no reaction from the other side. He opened his eyes and saw only a little girl with a deathly pale face standing outside the door.
"You..."
Tom's face instantly flushed crimson with shame.
But the little girl's face suddenly turned even paler. "Sorry... blegh..."
Murphy gently rubbed Hermione Granger's back. "Mrs. Cornan, do you have any motion sickness medicine?"
"Yes, yes." Mrs. Cornan hurried off to find some medicine for Hermione Granger.
"Aren't you a wizard? Why don't you use magic to cure her?!" Once Mrs. Cornan had gone far enough away, Tom suddenly spoke up. His face was still burning, and his disgust for Murphy had reached its limit. To hell with that diary. Get angry if you want. I don't believe I can't get into magic school on my own!
Unexpectedly, Murphy did not get angry. "Magic can cure her, but Apparition is something you have to get used to. Throw up a few more times and you'll be fine."
As he spoke, he stood up.
Only then did Tom realize how tall this professor was. Looking up at him felt like looking at a tower.
Murphy extended a hand.
Tom flinched instinctively. Murphy noticed, crouched back down, and the hand that had originally been about to rest atop Tom's head ultimately landed on his shoulder instead. "You're a polite young man."
He patted Tom's shoulder. "You've got a bright future ahead of you. I think highly of you."
