By making slight adjustments to the Prima Materia Reveal search mode through the magical antennas mounted on the satellites, they could use it to search for the Holy Mother's magical frequency.
Once they found it, they only needed to adjust the frequency again so that it counteracted the Holy Mother's magical frequency, achieving annihilation.
None of this was difficult under Lucas's control.
And so, the hunt for the Holy Mother began.
To maintain precision, each magical satellite had a limited detection range, and there were not yet enough satellites to scan the entire globe simultaneously. However, these low-orbit satellites moved quickly, generally circling the Earth in just over an hour. With hundreds of satellites forming an immensely complex network of orbits, the area they could scan each day was still considerable.
For the Holy Mother to evade such scans, it would have needed to know the trajectories of all three hundred-plus satellites, calculate safe points beyond their scanning ranges, and flee to those safe zones in time. That was clearly impossible for it now.
Thus, every ten minutes to half hour or so, the Holy Mother's location would be illuminated by the "searchlights" in the sky. And once it was illuminated, an annihilating strike traveling at the speed of light would come for it.
After being struck, the Holy Mother would immediately escape through the connection between portraits. But the pulsed annihilation magic was like bullets fired from the zenith, always forcing it to pay some price.
It had already suffered a round of attacks when it had been trapped in the laboratory and still had not recovered. Now it was getting shot at every day. Although the frequency was not especially high, the feeling that someone might fire a shot at it at any time still left it utterly
