Volume Six Summary & Taking the Usual Day Off
This volume was very hard for me to write.
On one hand, the book had reached the middle-to-late stage and the threads were starting to draw together, so it wasn't as free anymore.
On the other hand, this volume left me too little time to think. I had an outline, but the detailed plot outline was filled in only as I wrote. Writing while thinking through the plot was extremely inefficient; almost every day I only finished in the early hours of the morning, and by the time I was done my head was spinning. I basically had no time to properly, carefully mull over the story.
Of course, there was another reason too. I have to admit, I'd gotten a little burned out... Maybe it's because I don't have much staying power. Within three months, I can keep up a high fighting spirit and passion, but any longer than that and the enthusiasm starts to fade. Add to that the fact that the numbers weren't really growing anymore, so there wasn't enough adrenaline to go around, and my morale started slipping.
I was tired every day, to the point that I even felt the things I wrote didn't quite meet expectations. Compared to the standard of the previous volumes, it had dropped somewhat, and my mood sank too.
With those two things feeding into each other, you can imagine what my writing state was like for this volume.
Once or twice, I even thought, Why not just post the synopsis of the upcoming plot, take two months off, and deal with it later?
But I know this is the normal state of a bottleneck. This is "the last leg of a journey marks the halfway point." If you want to
