Morris hid in the top of a tall tree, silently recovering his ability.

Quintapeds were extremely dangerous and ferocious creatures to begin with, and after being warped by magical contamination, they became even more savage, almost completely irrational. They would pounce on any living thing and tear into it.
Fortunately, although the giant wolf was enormous, its body was very agile. Several times, it escaped from between the Quintaped's claws and even bit back a few times. However, the Quintaped's hide and fur were much tougher than the giant wolf's. David's bites basically only left a few shallow bloody holes in its body and did not cause much damage.
