Jacqueline and the others were discovered almost the moment they entered.
There were too many people in the Capitol building. To avoid suddenly appearing beside a Muggle, they had not used Apparition and instead boldly stormed in through the main entrance again.
The instant the doors swung open without wind, the guards in the surveillance room, who had already been watching every area, immediately reported the situation.
"Damn it, they're inside! I can't see them!" one officer said.
"Protect the lawmakers!" The security captain rushed to the fire control box, smashed the glass, and pressed a red button. Alarms immediately blared throughout the Capitol building. At the same time, every smoke alarm was triggered, and water began spraying everywhere.
Jacqueline jumped at the sudden alarm, then got drenched. She could not help panicking, and the Disillusionment Charms on them became unstable beneath the rushing water.
An officer in the corridor saw a patch of strange, distorted colors suddenly appear amid the curtain of water, flickering constantly. He immediately ducked behind a corner and shouted, "I can see them! They're in the first-floor corridor! Their invisibility has failed!"
"Intruders! Drop your disguises, or I'll open fire!"
"They found us!" a young wizard cried. "Jacqueline, what do we do?"
"The Prime Minister is holding a meeting on the second floor. Apparition!"
This time, they had finally done their homework and knew where the President held meetings.
After speaking, Jacqueline Apparated directly to the second floor. When they had searched for the President before, they had explored the entire building. Now that they had been discovered, there was no need to hold back.
